Quiet Beach Haven Near Bangkok
Faasai Resort and Spa is a peaceful coastal haven only 220 kilometres to the southeast of Bangkok or about three hours by car. The quiet garden resort is only ten minutes walk from Kung Wiman beach and a good base for exploring the beaches and mountains of Chanthaburi. The nearest airport is Suvanabhumi, Bangkoks international airport, about two and a half hours away, which has buses going directly to Chanthaburi. It is a good alternative to the other eastern beaches of Ko Chang or Pattaya, as it is closer than Ko Chang and quieter than Pattaya. We can arrange transport to and from the resort by taxi or private van. Alternatively there are regular bus services with buses leaving almost every hour from Bangkok. If you are driving from Bangkok, take the eastern motorway to Bang Na, then Ban Bueng before turning into highway 344 to Klaeng and Chanthaburi. At Klaeng turn left into highway 3 and then 32 kilometres past Klaeng turn right into highway 3399 which will take you to Kung Wiman beach. You will see Faasai on the right 300 metres before you reach the sea.

An Eco Resort in Chanthaburi, Thailand
Faasai means clear skies; a reference to the refreshing quality of the breeze and expansive views of the sky and encircling hills and mountains. From the comfort of your pavilion terrace you can enjoy abundant bird life, brightly coloured butterflies, lizards, the scent of the forest and tropical flowers, the rising sun and moon, a starlit sky and the sound of the waves. In the rainy season you will also see fireflies, mountain mists, tropical thunderstorms and spectacular views of the Cardamon Mountains 80 kilometres to the east. Faasai Resort and Spa is an eco-resort, committed to preserving the environment and supporting the local community.

Retreat, Relaxation and Five Star Service
With only 14 rooms Faasai has a spacious and peaceful atmosphere where you can experience the delights of nature from the comfort of your own terrace.Every room has a view and we have a range of styles to suit your individual preference.

As part of our commitment to responsible travel, we have insulated all our rooms to conserve electricity; they are light, airy and well-ventilated, we use solar water panels for water heating, the water supply is from our own natural underground mineral spring and we use grey water tanks for the water discharge from our villas.
We have wheelchair access to our six villas.

O   Villas
Our classical villas are tucked away amongst tree covered hills. Made with local bricks they are in the colours of the natural elements and blend harmoniously with the local landscape. Each room has its own separate identity with its own colour and name (mangosteen, blue mountain, sea mist, watermelon, bamboo and aloeswood). The villas have been designed to make the most of the sea breeze and the view of the gardens and surrounding hills.

O   Bungalows
Our Thai style wooden bungalows are on stilts with their own little terraces with garden views. Inside we have used natural materials such as bamboo matting and wooden floors with this natural theme continued into the pebble-tiled bathrooms.

O   House
Our light and airy Cattelya House, also on stilts and made with natural materials has three bedrooms, its own large tropical-style verandah and looks over to the lotus pond, waterfall and Thai Feng Shui garden. There are many rare trees and plants in the garden beside the house, including fragrant flowering trees and healing herbs which are used in traditional Thai and Ayurvedic medicines. The house can be rented as a whole or as individual rooms including single rooms.

O   Penthouse
The penthouse has a stunning 360 degree view of the mountains, sea and forest as well as its own private spa bathroom and Jacuzzi.

We want you to be able to experience the thrill of Thailand and the unique natural wonders of Southeast Asia…in a comfortable and friendly atmosphere.

That's why we have kept the number of our rooms small despite our extensive grounds. We have more than three acres of gardens filled with the scent of tropical flowers, the sound of birdsong and soothing fountains. This makes it easy to forget about the rest of the world but if you do wish to be connected with your friends and family from our tropical retreat, we have broadband, wireless and Skype available at our cafe and wifi facilities at Baan Cattelya.

All of our rooms are equipped with cable television and phones, and our villas, penthouse and the master bedroom in Baan Cattelya are provided with DVD players so you can enjoy music or movies whenever you like. You can bring your own selection or browse our library of books and videos to choose from a selection of classics, music and comedies.

Our Cafe - Local Cuisine, Seasonal Delicacies
Our cafe has fresh sea food caught by the local fishing fleet, local specialities such as the famous Moo Chamuang (pork casserole with leaves from the Chamuang tree), healthy cuisine made with local herbs, freshly picked fruit from the local orchards, seasonal delicacies, barbecues and Isaan and Western dishes. Upon request we will provide meals to suit meet special dietary needs.

Groups
With only 14 guest rooms Faasai is too small for large conferences – and that’s the way we like it. It is small, quiet and intimate which makes it ideal for small groups such as executive retreats, health retreats, seminars and workshops and weddings.

Our air conditioned cafe can accommodate up to 40 people. It has abundant natural light with a restful view of the surrounding hills and gardens and has wifi facilities. We have a large outdoor space next to the restaurant for dining or parties.

We can prepare menus/parties/outings/barbecues/weddings to suit your special event. For more information, please email us at info@faasai.com or call +66 81 3426234.

Around the Resort
For those who are interested in ecotourism or cultural tourism there are many interesting activities around Faasai Resort. One of the easiest is bird watching. All you have to do is sit quietly and you will be able to spot many beautiful and unusual birds such as the greater racket-tailed drongo (sang saew), lineated barbet (poradok) and coucal (kabok).

You can also go wild-life spotting in a bush walk to the top of the hill behind the resort. There are squirrels, wildcats, snakes and monkeys as well as many varieties of lizards and ghekkos. It is called Kao Nam Pu or Springwater Hill because of a natural mineral spring which flows out of there.

From the top of the hill there is a spectacular ocean view and you can pay your respects at the shrine for the Mother of the Sea.

From the resort it is only a short walk to the safe swimming beach of Kung Wiman. In the winter and summer months (November to April) the water is clear enough for admiring the tropical fish when snorkeling around the rocks and going out in a glass bottomed boat in the nearby Kao Chao Lao beach. We can also arrange boat trips on the harbour, kayaking through the mangroves, firefly spotting during the rainy season, or visits to the marine sanctuary in Kung Kraben.
