| The Story of Shantaa |
| We have been in and out of the Koh Kood for so many years. In fact, we were actually born on the island. We grew up and work in Bangkok. Every time we feel tired and drained from work, we usually go back to our home here. Back then, there was no electricity. It was extremely quiet and peaceful. It was like the time had stopped. We felt so rested. |

| Our love ones and friends also felt the same way. They kept asking us to take them along whenever we went back again. Then we came to think that it would be nice if we could share this feeling with the others and this was how “Shantaa” has begun. |

| Shantaa is a family-owned resort. It is designed to have only a few villas to limit the number of guests at a time. With a small number of guests, we are able to take care of all the guests like we are taking care of our friends. For this reason, Shantaa turns out to be warm, quiet and peaceful as we intended to. We are best for anyone who wants to escape from their busy city life. |

| Shantaa staffs and partners are not hotel professional. We don’t need to be hotel professionals to make guests happy. We service by hearts. So we can proudly say that we are one of the best small (not-professional) resorts in the eastern part of Thailand. |

| Shantaa restaurant is the 8-sided and open to fresh sea breeze. It's where we dine while enjoy the great view of Ao Tapao and beautiful music that we play all day long. All meals are prepared by local chefs to have the local touch of the island. Beside meals, we also have snacks, drinks, smoothies and gourmet coffee to order. Daily service: 07:30 am.-04:00 pm. and 05:30 pm.-10:00 pm. (Last order: 08:30 pm.) |

| These are places that you can spend your day other than the beach. Sala is more like a small platform with roof made of dry leaves. Guests usually takes nap here. | The South Beach |
The south beach is just about 100-200 meters walk from the Villas. At the south edge of Shantaa, there is a community pier. The south beach is a small beach next to this pier. It is
partly sandy and rocky, but is great for snorkeling. However, just over to the other side of the pier is a vast stretch of perfect coconut fringed beach with crystal clear water especially on a bright sunny day. You can walk on this stretch part of this beach as far as you like or lie there as long as you please. At our small beach, we have Shantaa Bar-BaRa that you can order drinks and snacks. Kayaks, sun beds and beach towels are also available here. |

| In the year 1995, a good pier was needed. A good pier was the most important factor for the people on an isolated island like Koh kood. So our grandpa, as the community leader at that time, donated this only piece of land on the beach for the authority to build this pier for the benefit of all people. About 10 years later, Shantaa was born. This is why Shantaa is right next to this pier. The pier wasn’t built to be pretty for tourists, it was built to serve the needs of the people. This seems like a negative point for Shantaa, which is true for some people. |

| Nowadays, this pier still services the community very well. It takes passenger boats, freight boat and some fishing boats. There are several boats come in and out daily. There might be some noise, people and trucks when boats arrive or leave to pick up or sending off their guests. At the same time, the pier itself is more like a recreational park for locals and travelers rather than a busy pier with passengers all day long. People usually gather here around the sunset. Some of our guests did enjoy lying down at the beach watching lives on the pier. |

| The North Beach |
| The north beach is at the north edge of Shantaa. It is also about 100-200 meters walk from a villa. This beach may not be an ideal beach for swimming. But it is quiet and away for the crowd. It is one of the best spot for sunbathing and relaxing. |

| Shantaa Gati Café is there to service you. It is a small snack bar that you can order drinks, snacks or a full meal. Sunset here is also very beautiful here. Sun beds and beach towels are also available there. |
