| The Oriental Kwai Resort is owned and managed by Djo (Dutch /Thai) and Evelien (Dutch) who met each other in Holland, they got married in 2004. After a holiday to Thailand they decided to start a resort at the beautiful river Kwai area. In April 2006 they started their dream with 100% jungle! With the help of both their families they designed and set up the resort in one year, opening in April 2007. Together they have 3 daughters, Mila (january 2006), Emi (september 2007) and June (december 2009). |

| Djo, Evelien and staff run the business with their heart and give their guests a personal approach. Through their travelling experience in Thailand they can give tips and information about what's fun to see and how to get there. |

| The Oriental Kwai resort is a small and peaceful resort located in a little village only 20 minutes drive from Kanchanaburi town and 150 km from Bangkok. The 12 cottages are spread throughout a tropical garden and teak forest on the banks of the famous river Kwai. This makes the Oriental Kwai resort a perfect retreat for nature lovers and people who want to have a taste of the beauty of unspoiled Thailand. All cottages, designed in a warm modern Thai style, have everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Oriental Kwai resort is the perfect gettaway for couples as well as family's. | The 12 cottages, all designed in modern Thai style, are spread throughout a teak forest and tropical garden that's located on the banks of the famous river Kwai. Every cottage has it's own veranda complete with comfortable chairs. Here you can relax, read a book or just enjoy the view over the river or the lush garden. For families we have two 1-bedroom cottages for 2 up to 6 persons available, one at the riverfront and one in the garden. These cottages both have a separate bedroom with box spring beds for 4 persons. In the living room/lounge there's a sleeping area withbox spring beds for 2 persons and a sitting area with television and a DVD player. The luxury-decorated bathroom with warm water shower can be reached through the living room. Outside you'll find a large private terrace with a great view over the river Kwai or the beautiful garden pond. For wheelchair travelers we have a 2 person cottage available that is easy accessible. |

For wheelchair travellers and those who have a small physical limitation we have a wheelchair friendly 2-person Garden view cottage available. This cottage is easy accessible and designed to make your holiday as comfortable as possible. The cottage has a slope entrance, a large bathroom with a special shower chair (if needed) and a grip handle at the shower and toilet, no thresholds and obstacles in the cottage and doors that are wide enough to pass with a wheelchair. Furthermore this cottage has the same facilities as all other cottages. The restaurant, the swimming pool with sun terrace and the garden are also easy accessible. The paths through the garden are paved or hardened. The public toilets at the restaurant and the sun terrace at the swimming pool are also wheelchair friendly. |
